What are Quadratics?

Quadratics in maths are an equation or problem that deals with curved graphs, known as parabolas. Quadratics involve variables that are multiplied by themselves, and are called squared variables. In fact, the word quadratic comes from the word ‘quadratum’, which in Latin means squared. Another name for a quadratic relation is "Equation of Degree 2" (since the highest degree of a quadratic equation is 2). An example of a quadratic equation is:

                                             y = 13x^2 + 7x + 8
